According to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the required license depends on your annual turnover and nature of the food business:

• Basic Registration: Annual turnover below ₹12 lakh.

• State License: ₹12 lakh – ₹20 crore turnover.

• Central License: Above ₹20 crore, or for businesses operating across multiple states, import/export operations, 100% export units, etc. 

2. Collect Required Documents

Depending on your license type, common documents include:

• Identity & address proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)

• Business proof (rent agreement, utility bills)

• Passport-size photo, business details, declaration

• Additional documents: layout plans, water test reports, machinery lists (for manufacturing), IEC certificate (for importers) 

3. Application via JagaTaKart (or integrating into your platform)

If JagaTaKarT links to or embeds the government portal:

1. Visit the FSSAI FOSCoS portal and create an account.

2. Choose the correct form (Form A for Basic, Form B for State/Central).

3. Fill in details, upload documents, and pay government fees.

4. Upon submission, you’ll receive an acknowledgment and application tracking ID.

5. Inspection and review by food safety authorities.

6. You’ll receive the FSSAI number (valid for 1–5 years) via email or the portal.

1. Fill out a registration form on JagaTaKarT with your business details.

2. Upload key documents.

3. JagaTaKarT will handle submission, payment, and follow-up with FSSAI authorities.

4. Processing Time & Validity

• Basic registration: ~2–5 working days.
